USA Climbing has officially released its much-anticipated schedule for the 2026 National Championship season, featuring a series of key events that promise to showcase the talent and dedication of climbers across the United States. The season kicks off with the Climbing National Championships from February 11-15 in Orlando, Florida, followed by the National Team Trials from March 4-8 in Portland, Oregon. Recognized by both the International Olympic Committee and the IFSC, USA Climbing serves as the national governing body for competition climbing in the U.S.
Originally set for October 2025, the National Championships were rescheduled to February 2026 to optimize athlete performance. By spacing the Climbing National Championships and National Team Trials just one month apart, closer to the start of the IFSC World Cup season, USA Climbing aims to enhance consistency in athletes’ performances while providing them with a more substantial off-season.
This year’s National Championships will encompass five main events hosted in various locations, including Texas, Oregon, Georgia, and Utah. In addition to the marquee Climbing National Championships and National Team Trials, the schedule also features separate events for the Para Climbing National Championships, Collegiate National Championships, and Youth National Championships.
Marc Norman, President and CEO of USA Climbing, expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming season, stating, “We’re looking forward to sharing our biggest season yet with athletes and fans. We’re grateful for the incredible support of our gym partners, who will host championship events across the country before we wrap up the season at our National Training Centre in Salt Lake City.”
